Le folklore cède au drame
Le costume du rituel devient marionnette, alter ego de la jeune fille qui, entre Belle au Bois dormant aux prises du sort et Ève face à la tentation, ne peut résister à son appel. Quand son bûcher s’embrase, elle enfile le manteau et embrasse son sort. Pleinement sorcière, l’élue conjure sa mort en commandant aux flammes.
Folklore gives way to drama
The ritual costume becomes a puppet, alter ego of the young girl who — caught between Sleeping Beauty in the grip of fate and Eve before temptation — cannot resist its call. As her pyre catches fire, she puts on the coat and embraces her fate. Fully a witch, the chosen one conjures away her death by commanding the flames.
